Hear Ye, Hear Ye! AWARDS TIME!

This has been a great week! Thank you to all who have interacted with me in comments, reblogging, and liking my work! Some posts take a HUGE amount of time and others don’t. But I’m all about giving back and extending my hand of friendship to those around me. The fact that you read my work and talk back to me about it means the world to me! Thank you!

So I want to give out some kudos to those who have been amazing this week. Now I want to do this each week, so you can rise through the ranks the more you visit and comment! I know, I know…I can’t hand out cool presents each week, but there are times I will do a random give-away for those who participate on a regular basis. I’m unpredictable that way.

Take a moment to take a peek at these awesome bloggers! Follow them, talk to them, love them!

The Benevolent Light on StoryFinds!

So a fellow writer, Cheryl Alleway, turned me onto this site for authors called Story Finds. This is geared toward allowing authors to showcase their work to a whole new audience of readers. My books are listed there and The Benevolent Light was chosen to be featured in their Medieval Romance Week! You should visit me there, read the excerpt of said featured book, and watch the trailer!

There is also a poll that will be taking place the 23rd through the 30th of March! Yes, that is next week as well! This is where you can go to vote on a cover to help that author win a little more exposure! So I would assume that all you readers will head over there on Sunday to vote for The Benevolent Light’s cover, right??

Story Finds is a great way to connect authors and readers. The best way to support an author is to be supportive of events and spread the word. Your word of mouth means everything to starving artists everywhere! The best part about that is it only takes one or two seconds to “share” an author with your friends so you really invest very little time in showing your support! But I guarantee you that it means the world to that person who dedicates hours upon hours to fill your mind with images and stories with their words. A “like” is just not enough, guys. They are appreciated, but that “share” is the frosting on that cake of success.

If you really love an author, your thoughts on the books you have read are vital. Don’t think of it as a formal review. We want your honest, constructive thoughts. Keep in mind that if a book just isn’t your style, don’t just head to Amazon and bash it. You are entitled to your opinion, but being nasty to someone who may not deserve it could ruin their writing career. In any book, you should be able to find at least one positive thought…even if it is that you liked the cover.

Be loving, be kind, be supportive! That is what makes the world go ’round! Don’t forget to visit me on Story Finds!

Across the Threshold Book Tour: Character Interviews

Blog Tour Banner

So today’s stop on the tour for the anthology, Across the Threshold, is an effort made by all of us involved. We devised a standard interview form with questions that all of our main characters were to answer. This should prove to be most interesting!

You can visit my website for the full story HERE!

Then, pay the other authors a visit and see how their characters answered all the same questions!

BOOK TOUR! Across the Threshold!

So today was the official release of the anthology I have been so blessed to be a part of. The tour kicked off with a post at Twisted Willow Press. Then, we had loads of fun at a release party on Facebook. If you weren’t there, you can peek in and see what fun we had!

This book was a long time in the making. We started it with a group of people that all worked together. I can still remember the exhilaration I felt when our “Imp” asked if I would join the group. We had a deadline  of January 2013 so I feverishly abandoned my NaNo last year and wrote “On Wings of Silver”. It was an easy story for me to write since it plays as a prequel to my YA series that I will one day get to finish. I love Nahdea, my stubborn little faerie who falls in love with a human…instead of it being the other way around.

As time went on and we hit one deadline after another, we all sort of lost touch. Finally I grew impatient. I had worked so hard on that story that I was not about to do nothing with it. So, I contacted some of the original authors of the group and some that were new.  Together, we put together a collection of stories we are most proud of. We do miss our Imp very much.

When you download a copy of this book, you support the dreams of six authors who call themselves the Twisted Willow Wordsmyths and encourage future anthologies of different genres. This book gives you a variety of short stories to enjoy. Some are really short and some are longer, but they are all full of action, adventure, wishes and spells.

Be sure to catch my post on December 1st on my website. Should be a fun one! 😀

Pick up your copy in paperback or in Kindle versions! You know, Amazon has free Kindle apps so you can read books on virtually ANY device now. They also allow you to purchase a book as a gift and schedule its deliver by email. Perhaps you know someone who is getting a Kindle for Christmas??

“Take my hand and come across the threshold where nothing is as it should be, yet everything is an adventure!

This collection of stories comes from a group of authors who have aptly named themselves “The Twisted Willow Wordsmyths”. Their imagination will take you to places you never knew existed. From the power of a human tree to the fanciful Three Little Pigs, the trials of a stubborn little faerie to the rhythm of ancient drums, the curse of an old ship to the possibility of stars making wishes. There are no dull pages, no putting the book down, but hours of wonderful moments with the characters that come alive in these pages.

We all hope you love this book and look forward to many more!”

NEW RELEASE! The Benevolent Light: Book Five of the Aspen Series

RothanCover2updatedAhhh…It is so good to be back. I have admittedly been so stressed about this book being finished, I have done little else!

I appreciate you all for sticking by me, kicking me in the rear from time to time, and making this event possible. I have to send out a special “thanks” to my good friend, Cheryl Alleway, for her positive emails when I needed them the most.

You know, I didn’t really think I would make this deadline. Two weeks ago, I had about a hundred pages to go and I hardly worked on it at all on our trip to Forks, WA. This past Friday I was still shy about sixty pages from where I wanted to be and from where I envisioned the end. Sunday morning, I wrote the remaining last few pages and was able to close the laptop, breathing a deep sigh of accomplishment.

Now, I find myself torn. My head is in Aspen’s world right now and yet I long to work on other projects and postpone the last book of the series, The Key of the Kingdom. I am thinking that I may work on some other ideas for a few months and come back to Thorne and Aspen when I am not so worn out. Six long books with little other work in between is a lot.

So about a book tour… Well, I have given this a lot of thought. I would like to have one, but I felt it a little unfair so deep in the series to expect bloggers to get acquainted with all five books, so I have foregone the tour for now. I have some fun ideas, so just because we aren’t having a blast hopping around the bloggesphere, doesn’t mean that I am discrediting it at all. I am just wanting it to be fun for everyone…including the bloggers who take the time to post about my work.

(If you are a blogger and would like to participate, feel free to let me know.)

So for now, know that I love each of you dearly and appreciate the time you take to read the story that has been working its way out of my head for many years now. To think that it took me nine years just to write the first book alone…that is a long time. I hope you hold as deep a love for my characters as I do!

Darkness shrouds the Darktowers as they press forward, the familiar cliffs in the forefront of their minds as their journey comes close to the end. Rothan sits over his mound of gold, the devil in command of his army with his evil eyes seeing each shadow, every corner, any opportunity with which to gain power, to flaunt the tree upon his palm and take what he covets most. And through the storm that brews, the light fades until the blackness chokes all in its path. A battle of wills dictates which path will be taken and when the torment ends, Aspen finds one brilliant shaft of light. A benevolent light. The most beautiful beam of light one has ever seen.

“I wanted to hear that you had perished…that I was free to keep her here as the symbol of peace and order, of love and light. You are the one flaw in my plan. But one day, one day…you will no longer own her.” ~King Rothan

Don’t worry, links will appear tomorrow, the official first day to have your own copy of The Benevolent Light… September 17th 2013!

Happy reading and God Bless!!
