September 17th, 2013! Release Date!

So after much hard work and beating myself up for not making my May deadline (that was the deadline in my mind), I am finally ready to set a date in stone.

September 17th, 2013, The Benevolent Light will be available via Kindle or paperback. I can authorgraph your digital copies or send you signed editions of the paperback!

For those of you interested that may not be caught up with the Aspen Series to date, my birthday is June 18th. Yes, that is Tuesday and I will put my books on sale through Amazon Kindle for the day. So not just “happy birthday to me”, you can score as well! Keep watching for freebie information and pass it along!

As the date gets closer, there will be some fun activities to participate in and possibly learn even more about me in the process.

RothanCover2updated

Darkness shrouds the Darktowers as the press forward, the familiar cliffs in the forefront of their minds as their journey comes close to the end.
Rothan sits over his mound of gold, the devil in command of his army with his evil eyes seeing each shadow, every corner, any opportunity with which to gain power, to flaunt the tree upon his palm and take what he covets most.
And through the storm that brews, the light fades until the blackness chokes all in its path. A battle of wills dictates which path will be taken and when the torment ends, Aspen finds one brilliant shaft of light. A benevolent light. The most beautiful beam of light one has ever seen.

Have a peek at the trailer:

Where do we go from here?

The Benevolent Light

Really.

Where do we go from here?

A little over a month ago, I was set on finishing book five in the Aspen Series before I needed to return as a slave to corporate America. I’m pretty unmotivated for a number of reasons.

They say that a professional writer writes whether they feel like it or not. An amateur needs inspiration.

What do you think about that?

When I was blogging every day, I got a little burned out on writing really great content. (I was working as a blogger outside the home for the last 6 months.) By the time I got home, I didn’t care about writing anymore. When I write my books, I do depend on inspiration to guide me. My books are me. My emotions come out in what is between the covers of my works. I can’t just sit down and write something amazing on the spot. Sometimes it takes weeks of running a particular scene through my head, role playing conversations with myself just to get it right, and closing my eyes to allow my senses to become engaged with what I am writing about. Sometimes I even cry. (Lame, I know, but that is me.) I feel that there is a distinct difference between parts where I am inspired and when I am not in my books.

I keep my file open. In fact, I am on page 260 of The Benevolent Light. I open it on a daily basis…but I haven’t written a single word for weeks. I can’t visualize it right now…it is all dark. Ugh.

So what happens now? Do I push through the block or do I keep on the lookout for inspiration? Do I risk writing terribly or do I try to do it right the first time? Maybe there is no real answer to that.

Why not switch projects?

Well, I did for a while. In December, I wrote my piece for that anthology, “On Wings of Silver”. In November, I was working on my NaNo. In January I was working on a screenplay of my first book…Stopped that for a while. I get so excited and little support in making it happen. It is still a project I don’t want to abandon, but I won’t work on it again unless I can get the project set up first. No more wasted time. My focus has to be on this book and my focus is broken for the time being. lol

I suppose I should just put down at least one word a day. Eventually, they would all come together and the book will be done. Just one word at a time.

Review of Noble Courage Written by: Jimagined

final hi res

I saw this review of my first book just now. Jim is very honest about how he feels. Considering many guys can’t get into this book, I was pleased with what he had to say. 🙂 Thank you, Jim!

I’ll Make you a Deal…

I recently changed over my website and look forward to the time that I have many followers and readers there as well.

So, I will make a deal with all of you. You head over and Follow my new site at www.daishakorthbooks.com and I promise to post snippets of my newest work that I plan to release next year. All it takes is to Follow me and when I have enough readers, I will post pieces of the new book.  🙂  Let’s just see who loves the Darktowers…who loves reading something different…who gives Indie authors a sporting chance…right? I would love to see all of you over there at my new home.

I thank you all for your support!

To get started on the Aspen Series, they are available for download on Kindle for .99 a book. So for less than the price of two gallons of gasoline, you get all five books. Start your vacation today!  And don’t forget about my kid’s book, The Adventures of Hyde and Zeek. It is a pretty cool book too! 🙂

A Thank You

You know, it is very hard to step out on the stage and allow yourself to be vulnerable and judged by the public. It is quite different to make your work available over keeping a journal. Both are equally great cruades, but I didn’t care so much about who read my work or even if they did.

Now, it is a different case. I have been on a mission for some time now and finally decided it was time to really get serious about what I do because I have been told by many that I do it well.

I am having an affair with my characters. They never leave me alone. They are consuming my mind. I love them dearly. I cry when they feel sorrow. I have put in my sweat, tears and blood pressure for my readers’ benefit. It was for them that I continued to tell my characters’ story. I’m in love with my whole world and I want you to be too.

So…I want to applaud those who have taken the time to actually read my posts and my books. I owe a debt of gratitude to those who retweet me on Twitter. And I will love every one of my fans who propelled me forward even when I wanted to give up. You all know who you are and I will be forever grateful. Please keep spreading the word and telling the world how much you love the Aspen Series or Hyde and Zeek.

For those who have promoted me and wish me to mention a special you have going on or a new book being released, let me know! I am here to make the system work. And know that if I “like” your posts, it means I read them and they moved me in some way.

Big Promotion Tomorrow for The Price of Power!

The Price of Power Ebook on Sale!

I seem to always get the day wrong when setting up my promos. lol I thought I set it to start today, but alas, it will being at midnight my time and will be free until Thursday. This is the second book in my series, but you could read it and still know pretty much what is going on. You just miss all of the delightful drama of the first book! Just so you know, the first book is only .99. For those willing to take the time to try me out, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you would help me spread the word, I would be most grateful, for even if you can’t read my work you may know someone that will. This I appreciate a whole lot as well.

You  may be thinking that you just don’t read the medieval stuff. I’m here to tell you that I have changed a lot of people’s minds on that subject. For you become a part of the story and love the characters for who they are. You barely notice the time period. I tried to make it a book that you can read with ease, no dictionary required, yet rich enough that you step into my world when you crack the book open.

I can’t force anyone to watch my trailers or read my work, but I can ask for support in seeking out my dreams. I appreciate all of you who have helped me and continue to do so, in order for me to get to this point. I love all of you!  🙂

Can I sum it up?

So there was another blogger that challenged authors to be able to wrap the entire book into one sentence. How’s this?

Noble Courage is a medieval tale of love, greed, and power in which Aspen Tiller finds her way to become an angel for a lost and downtrodden people, wherein she finds out the difference between love at first sight and a deep, true love but must fight with all her might to hang onto everything she holds dear. ~ Daisha Marie Korth

Download Noble Courage for .99 from Kindle or the prequel, Tales of Elgolan for free until 10/1/12!

Tales of Elgolan is now LIVE!

So after I finished Noble Courage, I really struggled with the next book. My initial plan was to begin the book many years in the future and my fans made it clear that was NOT what they wanted.

So as I floundered for about eight months on the first few paragraphs of the book, I was getting emails about when people could expect the next book. I was seriously frustrated. With working more than 40 hours a week, there was no way I could pump out a whole novel in four months. (did I mention I had a house of five boys at the time?) There was just no time.

And so it happened, I quit my job. I stayed home for one month between jobs and in that time, I wrote this little prequel that translates into about 150 pages. It was first started as a series of short stories for the Amazon Shorts program. I had part one done and part two started. But after I had published the first two with them, they dissolved the program. I was at a loss.

I kept writing those little stories and eventually, I put out the collection of them that defines the way life was before Noble Courage began. The number one question I was asked after people read Noble Courage was how did Vatric end up the way he was. I wanted to give some background to my characters because every story has to have a beginning!

I think the story is very cool. Believe me, it was difficult to get times, events, and ages to all match up in hind sight. But if you read Noble Courage first, it is fun to see the puzzle all come together.

So yesterday, I put the book on Amazon Kindle. It has NEVER been made into an ebook before so this will be great fun! It does run for free downloads until Monday so go pick it up! I thank you so much for reading, you will never know how much it means to me that you take the time to escape to my world!

If you would share this post or RT on Twitter, you will be my hero!
